1979
The Woolford family acquired Flinders Island off the coast of Elliston as a freehold sheep station.
1984
Peter Woolford (Tobin and Jonas’ father) noticed boats working around the island and that is where his love for abalone diving began. He started by working on a harvest boat and then bought a licence to dive.
1987
Eyrewoolf was established to export abalone.
1997
Sons Jonas and Tobin started diving and became directors of Eyrewoolf Enterprises in 2008.
2015
Carissa joins Eyrewoolf, marking the full transition of the business to the second generation. Today, the family continues to oversee every aspect of the abalone business, from harvest to management and marketing.
A FAMILY OWNED BUSINESS
The island origins
Our journey began in 1979 with the family purchase and relocation to Flinders Island, 35 km off the Southern Coast of Australia.
Living as sole inhabitants of a remote island substantiated our passion for a close connection with nature and the taste of premium seafood direct from the ocean.
OPERATING SINCE 1985
Sharing the seaside life
At Eyrewoolf Abalone we want to connect with those who appreciate the delicacies of the sea. Our goal is to showcase the pure and elite flavour of our wild abalone, creating new and exciting ways to experience it.
OPERATING SINCE 1985
For future generations
Now a third-generation family business, we are committed to preserving and safeguarding the future of our wild abalone resource. We are proudly leading the way in environmentally sustainable fishing practices and actively participating in industry roles.
